Infiltration Berms
Infiltration berms are even more environmentally beneficial than bioretention basins, however they contain more limitations as their size and permeability greatly impact their effectiveness. Berms are a mound of soil, usually covering an extra clay layer, filled with natural filtration substrate, and are meant to divert or lessen the impact of stormwater runoff (Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection 2006).
