Bioretention basins would be able to contain and filter any stormwater runoff by capturing it in mulch-covered depressions near the established Stygobromus sites, filtering the water through gravel, mulch, and an underdrain while retaining the beauty of the natural landscape and protecting the nearby aphotic habitats (University of Florida 2008).
